Frequently asked questions
Everything people ask before their first purchase, and most of what they ask after. If your question is not here, email us — the answers below were written from real inbox traffic.
Buying and licensing
What exactly am I buying — a video or the project file?
You are buying the editable After Effects project: compositions, expressions, pre-comps and controls that we built. You are not buying a finished video. You open the project, drop in your logo, colours and footage, and render your own version.
How many projects can I use one template in?
As many as you like, personal or commercial, for as long as you work. There is no per-project fee and no extended licence to upgrade to. The only thing you cannot do is give the project file itself away or sell it.
Can I use a template for a paying client?
Yes. Client work is squarely covered. The same template can serve several different clients over time, because what you deliver is a rendered video, not the project.
Can my whole team use one purchase?
Editors inside the company that bought the licence can. Freelancers, contractors outside your organisation or a separate agency need their own copy — it is one licence per company.
Do I have to credit MystikMotion in the video?
No. Nothing appears on screen in your final render. We appreciate a mention, but it is never required.
What is the licence key for?
It proves your purchase and carries your order details. Broadcasters, platforms and clients sometimes ask for proof that you are allowed to use a template — the key plus the certificate you can download from your account is that proof.
Files, fonts and plugins
Are fonts included?
No — bundling fonts is not permitted by most foundries. Every item page lists the exact typefaces used and where to get them. Some are free (Google Fonts, for example), others need a separate licence. Swapping in a font you already own is usually a two-minute job.
The text shows up in the wrong font. What happened?
After Effects substitutes a system font when the original is missing, which is why spacing and widths suddenly break. Open the project, read the missing-fonts warning carefully, install the listed fonts, then reopen the file. If your layout was designed for wide letterforms, installing a narrower font will shift everything — re-install the listed font rather than fighting the layout.
Is the stock footage in the preview included?
Not unless the item page says so. Previews use footage we either own or that is licensed for demonstration only, and passing those clips on to you would break their licence. Drop in your own clips — the media placeholders are already sized and colour-managed for you.
Do your templates need third-party plugins?
Most do not, and we mark the ones that do. Anything that needs Element 3D, Trapcode, Video Copilot or similar is listed under Requirements on the item page, and always has a note on whether it is essential or only used for one optional scene.
Which After Effects version do I need?
The minimum version is stated on every item page. Unless noted, projects are built and tested on the current release and usually open in the last two or three major versions. Older versions cannot open newer project files at all — that is an Adobe limitation, so please check before buying.
Can I open your templates in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve?
No. Our templates are native After Effects projects and depend on After Effects-only features such as expressions, shape layers and text animators. Rendered previews can of course be dropped into any editor.
Downloads and your account
How do I download a template after paying?
Go to Account → Downloads. The files are available immediately after your payment is confirmed, and again at any time later. Links are personal to your account, so do not post them anywhere.
The download stopped halfway. Can I retry?
Yes — nothing is consumed by a partial download. Retry from Account → Downloads. Template zips are large; if it keeps failing on a poor connection, use a download manager or ask us for a mirror link.
Can I re-download something I bought last year?
Yes, for as long as your account exists. We keep files online rather than expiring links, so old purchases stay retrievable.
Can I move my templates to another account?
Licences do not transfer automatically. If you are consolidating accounts, email hello@mystikmotion.com with both email addresses and the order numbers, and we will move them for you.
Payments and refunds
Which payment methods do you accept?
Payments run through Cashfree, which supports UPI, credit and debit cards, net banking and popular wallets in India, plus international cards. Prices are shown in INR with an indicative USD amount; the currency actually charged is shown at checkout.
Is checkout secure?
Card details are entered on Cashfree’s PCI-DSS-compliant page and never touch our servers. We only receive whether the payment succeeded and a reference number.
Can I get an invoice for my accounts?
Yes. A receipt is emailed after every order and is also available from Account → Orders. If you need a specific format for your accountant, ask and we will produce one.
I was charged twice. What now?
Email us with both payment references. Duplicate or failed-but-charged payments are refunded in full — usually the same day we confirm them, though your bank may take 5–7 business days to show the credit.
What is your refund policy?
Faulty, corrupt or misdescribed files are refunded within 14 days, no argument. A download that has already been used cannot be refunded because you changed your mind — the full detail is on the refund policy page.
Custom work and support
Can you customise a template for me?
Often, yes. Simple changes — a different aspect ratio, a new scene, matching brand colours across every comp — are usually quick. Send a description of what you need and we will quote honestly, including if it is cheaper to just explain how to do it yourself.
Can I request a template you do not have?
Yes, and we read every request. Tell us the brief at hello@mystikmotion.com. If several people ask for the same thing it moves up our list.
How fast is support?
We acknowledge within one business day and answer most things the same day. Anything needing a fix on our side — a broken archive, a wrong version — gets priority. Support is in English.
Do you offer tutorials?
Yes. Our tutorials section covers installing a template, swapping text and footage, fixing missing fonts, render settings and a few After Effects basics so you are not stuck at step one.
